I would like to see a feature where a skin can be applied to side of building (interior and exterior) that can be easily applied to wall/floor/roof intersections similar to how a building is built (siding on exterior and gyp bd or panels on interior). It would be nice if it can be applied by picking surfaces and have a way of cutting openings (doors and windows, etc) easily. It would get past the annoying intersections of the different objects at floors.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but did you know you can give the outside layers on one side of a wall a base and top offset? If you go into the structure diologue box for the wall, show the section preview, and then click the modify button, you can select the top or bottom ends of a wall layer and unlock it. Then you can set an offset in each wall's element properties. HTH.

jacka, What you are asking foir is called walls. And just like how a building is built, you create the walls where you want them. You can't "apply them to the building" because there is no building until you build it using walls/floor/roof. BTW - You can create a mass in the shape you want and "cover" it using wall by face.

JRMelo: Thanks, that was helpful and will work well for those situations where the floor cantilevers out and supports a wall, forming a bulkhead or soffit. WWHub: When I refer to "how it is built" I mean, you build the walls and floors, then sheath over the intersections of the two. For instance, sometimes the siding or veneer might go from ground floor to 2 feet above the second floor, or it might go three stories but not break at a floor. What I am looking for is a feature where the walland floor are sheathed over with a distinct layer that can be controlled as a surface in 3d.

This option would be great. Similar to the way finishes work in Chief Architect. I would like to model the framing and apply finishes to the framing. This would help the documentation process immensely. It might not be appropriate for conceptual studies.
