So we're trying to working with our MEP engineers on a project.  One problem we're coming across is coordinating our ceilings.  The issue is they say the need our lighting fixtures to be "faced based" so they can make their connections in Revit MEP.  The problem with that is now when we move our ceiling grid in any direction the lights no longer move with the grid, since they're faced based instead of being hosted to the ceiling.  Has anyone resolved this issue or have any suggestion on better ways to work with our engineers?

I believe they are wrong.

What they need is their own faced based lights that have their connections.  Your lights will not do them any good.

They will then place their lights whre yours are and turn your lights off.  Their lights need to be face based because you own the ceiling.

The reason the MEP guys want faced based is so they can directly connect to our fixtures instead of going through and changing them all out.  Is there a better way to collaborate with them?
