I have been struggling for some time now with Revit's placement of windows in a framed wall with brick facade. I am designing a residential structure and when I place the window in the wall, it automatically adjusts the window and jamb to the thickness of that wall, including the brick. I want the window to be attached only to the wood frame, with a brick edge reveal in front. Does anybody know how I can do this?

You have two possible solutions. - Build your walls as two seperate elements and place your window on the correct wall then join geometry so the window cuts both walls. (I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS)
- Remake your window family so you have a setback variable to place your window at the correct location. This requires a placement pane with an istance (or type) variable. (THIS WILL BE A GOOD LEARNING EXPERIENCE) This is a better window type for flanged windows.

Thank you. I will try that. I am still new to creating custom families, so I was hoping to avoid that, but it sounds like this is my best option.
