i have pulled material takeoff for wall finishes, and i noticed that everything doubled...and some plit regions havent really registred... as for doubling what i worked out is that it picks finish faces, as well as area of the studwall on both sides, hence auto-double...i think i might have found a solution, filter it out by AIR and by Timber Studs... But i still have difficulty working out how to get split faces to show with applied finish to them...could someone please gt back to me and, either suggest maybe easier option and solution to the problem the only option that works is ti redraw the walls, rehost the elements to it.....split the face and paint it....ne suggestions>> thanx guys

I did some experiment myself on this one. I was able to get the correct quantities i needed from the wall type i did. But the problem i had is that when i split the wall and apply a diffent material on "half" of the wall (equally) - I did not get the right quantities in one of the finish. For example... I created a wall (28'w x 10'h) with a exterior brick finish, then I split the wall finish equally, so it is now (2) 14'x10' with different material on each half (brick/plaster). When I checked my quantities.... I ended up with 140sf of plaster, which is correct. but the brick veneer is at 280sf, which is incorrect! should be 140sf as well since it got split up. Let me know what you guys think.

Simplify your schedule to include wall area / material area/ material description. Do one wall with no split and look at your schedule. You should have one wall shown with the area of the wall = area of the finish. Now split 1/4 of the face and paint on your other finish. You will now see two lines. The original plus a second line that gives the same wall area but only lists the material area of the split. Guess this means you have to be aware of this and account for it.

i went tru all those lil tricks, and i got the right amount, i made sure to do it with simple maths and dimensions...multiply, add, and then crosscheck... wat i had no control over is when i printed schedules again...i noticed that there is 80 sq meters difference (860 sq foot difference) on little 3 bed, 2 bath duplex...in tiles area, hence i just created new 3mm wall, which in actuall life represents the tiles, i got area of fc sheeting at the back, and now, thise walls will never 'go missing'
