I need to create existing footings under the architect's revit model on my first project. Even though these walls are not a part of the new construction, should I use the Structural Wall command then duplicate and create a new wall type as "Existing Foundation Wall 12 Conc". Then should I do the same with the existing wall foundation duplicating and creating a new "Existing Wall Foundation 36"x12". After that i could use halftone make them appear light. Is this the easiest way?

Actually Revit will take care of the difference. What I usually do is create a new wall type if I need to tag it differently from one that is new construction...otherwise just select the elements which will be "existing" and go to the element properties...under Phasing>Phase Created, select "Existing". It defaults to new construction. Hope this helps!
