I posted a while ago about trying to make up titleblocks in REVIT that look like the titleblocks we have in CAD here in our office. I took a little break from working on the titleblocks, but now am back at it again and have come across a couple more issues. Hopefully you guys can help me. I am using REVIT Architecture 2009. My initial question is about the whole Parameter thing with REVIT. I think I understand the whole Shared Parameter thing pretty well, but I am having a couple issues. I am trying to create the titleblocks for the office so each time you want to load in a titleblock, you can go to the ones I created and all the information is in there that needs to be there and then the fields can be filled in for each project as they change. I went through a couple tutorials and started my titleblock work with the 24x36 titleblock template in REVIT. I drew out all the lines as needed to make it look like our CAD 24x36 titleblock and added text to it where the words are just that; text and never change. Next, I went and created a txt. file for the shared parameters of my titleblocks. Then, I went in and created Labels for each of the fields of the titleblock. I then selected(or created) Parameters for each of those Labels. Now, the one tutorial I went through said that if I wanted these Shared Parameters to come up in each new project that was started(without having to load them into each project each time a new one was started) that I could create a default project template that the office should start with each time they start a new project and in that template, I should load in the Shared Parameters that I want included. So, I did that and started a project from scratch using that default template and then loaded in my titleblock. Everything seemed to work fine except for the Parameters that I selected in the titleblock instead of created. So, for instance, when creating the titleblock, I needed a field for Project Number. So, when I created the Label for Project Number(actually, the label is called Drawing_Info) I selected Project Number under the Category Parameters. Then, I edited the Sample Value for that Label Parameter to be NUMBER. The issue is that when I load the titleblock into my project, the Label to edit for Project Number doesn't say NUMBER like I edited it to, but it says Project Number. That isn't a huge issue, but my text style for that Label isn't correct either. How do I get those Parameters that I selected instead of created to look correct in my loaded titleblock when the titleblock is loaded into a project? Next, I have a question about lineweights in REVIT. On our titleblocks we have a thicker line around the edges of some of our titleblock information blocks. So, instead of use a line to create that thickness, I used a filled region. In CAD, that thicker line is a hatch and has a certain color pen assigned to it. In this case our color for that hatch is 56. Our pen assignment for that color results in a .25mm line with 40% screening. So, that results in a grey colored hatch. What would be the best way to go about duplicating that same screening and resulting grey color in REVIT? Hopefully my descriptions and questions are worded well enough to you guys can understand what I am trying to do and then might be able to help me. Thanks in advance
