Hi there. I'm pretty new to Revit & have searched through previous threads to find a solution to my question, but haven't quite found what I'm looking for yet. We have our Central file located on our server and then I have my local file that I work from. I took my local file home to do some work and I have saved it back onto my computer at work. When I try to synchronize with the central file I get this message..."Revit cannot synchronize this file with the central file, because the central file was rolled back to a prior version of the project. You can still save this as a local file and copy and paste changes into the central file." What does this mean and how do I fix it? There are 2 of us working on this project, we each have our own local files that we work from & then save to central so everything is updated. How do I get my changes in sync with the central file so my co-worker can see them & everything be updated? Thanks for the help!

In your HELP, do a search for "at risk" and read the three topics shown. You will find your answers ther.

So does this mean that I will not be able to synch with central at all? But I could take my local file & save as a new central file and go from there...losing any updates that may have been made to the previous central file? Thanks for the help.

"So does this mean that I will not be able to synch with central at all? Thanks for the help." you are correct, unless you cut-n-paste your changes back to the central file as the original message said. that's the "at risk" part of this whole prodecure. which i assume you found in the help as WWHub sugguested.

You really can't expect REVIT to perform magic.... As long as you are on the network, Revit will keep track of who owns what and allow you to work in areas you own. But once you go off-line, you become responsible for the coordination and you will have to identify changes and coordinate the update of the central. If nobody else worked on the file while you had it off-line, you will not have any problems. Otherwise, you will need to identify which file is more up-to date and use that then transfer what you can from the file you choose not to use.
