How can I create a wall type that has a shaft liner panel and/or insulation inside of the stud (Core) itself? See attached:

Just allow zones for the various layers of the wall. You won't be able to include the stud profile in plan. Detail this in afterwards or use a column if you have to include it in the model...

Sorry...I don't understand what you mean "allow zones for the various layers of the wall." Can you clarify that please?

In the wall structure properties add layers for each of the sections. If need be you could also add a layer for the flange of the Shaft Stud if need be...

Referring to my sketch, let me ensure I understand you: 1" air layer on exterior side inside Core Boundary add a 1/16" flange (what would you suggest as function/material?), 1" gyp. bd., 2 7/8" metal stud) = 4" total thickness 2 layers of 5/8" gyp bd on interior side of wall Is this what you are suggesting?

Please note I'm using metric in Australia... Exterior Optional - 1/16" layer for metal stud flange (4) 1" Gyp. Board (4) 2 7/8" Metal Stud (1) 5/8" Gyp. Board (4) 5/8" Gyp. Board (4) Interior the 1" expansion joint/air layer would not be modelled you would just leave a gap between the walls. You can't have an air layer external to the wall... Then if you want you can place structural columns for the studs if you need that level of detail in the model or preferably just use a detail component on your details of the appropriate scale. HTH.
