I am working for a firm trying to use Revit for rendering exterior elevations. I have created new materials using image files, and created materials using the color with a bmp as the texture. In all the renderings the sun settings throw off the colors because of the "yellowness" of the sun. And adjusting the exposure etc is a pain becuse I am not sure what settings to use. Any suggestions?

What I have found to help is to darken the RGB in the materials library darker than the actual color you are trying to render. This will take a few test renderings, on draft setting, to get the colors right. If you are using a material from the materials library and it has a color to it then you might need to fade the image or turn the image off completely (depending on what type of material you are rendering) make sure you adjust the bump as well to get a more realistic texture.

In the Exposure Settings of the Rendering Dialog,

Adjust the White Point to be Cooler.  Or try a different time of Day, earlier morning and late afternoon there will be more yellow/orange in the image.

Most rendering in Revit is tweaking, most times though, I get the quality in Revit and then take to photoshop and adjust colours, add entourage etc...
