We recently installed the 2010 service pack that reformated the method of modifying keyboard shortcuts to a searchable, live edition within Revit. I overall really enjoy the change, and have updated most of my frequently used shortcuts, but I can't find the isolate element command (the button is on the View Control Bar at the bottom under the sunglasses icon). Hopefully I am just missing something here. Has anyone else noticed this? Thank you in advance!

It is there on view control bar itself, check the attachment. Also HI is the shortcut.

Thank you for the response- but I think I must not have asked my question very clearly. I am trying to assign a keyboard shortcut to this function becuase I use it so frequently. Do you know how to do this now that the new keyboard shortcut dialog has been implemented? (the shortcut HI does not appear to isolate element when I tried it out). It appears to be missing from the list completely, even though similar functions like Isolate Category are available for whatever customization I please. It seems a bit backwards that before the update, we were able to assign a shortcut to this function, and now we cannot. Hopefully I am just missing something. Thank you again for your response- and sorry for the confusion with the unclear question.

From memory, this was missed from the keyboard shortcuts this time around... I just searched for isolate in the keyboard shortcuts and didn't see anything...

Not sure why you don't have it - see attached - it's under the 'View Control Bar items.

the OP doesn't have it becuase they installed the Subscription Advantage Package. There are a few problems with the SAP, missing commands included. As Chris said...it's missing. as a side note, I did try modifying the xml file and did get the command in the file....but I can't get Revit to recognize it.

I also recently downloaded an update to Revit- I am curious about the ability to modify the keyboard shortcuts in Revit live. I have been modifying the notepad file to do this so far... How do you modify shortcuts in the program?

Under the Application menu (the big R), look for the Options button, then in the first tab of the prompt (General), there is another button towards the bottom for Keyboard Shortcuts: Customize... This feature is new to the latest Subscription Advantage Package update, but it looks like they just missed a few bits and pieces when they were changing everything over from the text file to the new format. Overall the update is quite helpful, so if you can install it I would recommend it. I can deal without a keyboard shortcut for a while I guess. Hopefully they fix it next time around!

You can also get to the keyboard shortcuts from the ribbon, View tab|Windows panel|User Interface button.

Thanks- turns out I didn't have the right update... ![Smile](/images/smiles/smile.gif) But I have it now. And I love the shortcut interface. Before I had to edit the notepad file and it took forever to find anything.
