Our (residential) 2x4 wood walls are constructed in Revit with 1/2" of drywall, 3 1/2" wood stud, and another 1/2" of drywall. This is causing 2 problems - - Each dimension we add wants to snap to the outside of drywall, making the dimension off by a 1/2".
- When we use underlays, the underlay shows the outline that's either 3 1/2" thick, 4" thick, or 4 1/2" thick (depending on if the wall is no-drywall, 1-side drywall, or 2-sides drywall). This makes it very difficult to trace walls using underlays.
We are about to just totally remove the drywall so that we can trust all our dimensions and underlays. Is there another solution?

I'm kinda lost.... what are you trying to accomplish? A picture of what you trying to do might help. As far as snapping dimension...you can always use the "tab" to select the sides of the wall you want to dimension... (i.e., center, outside, inside....)

Set your dimensions to face of core and pay attention to what you are dimension to... THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT IN REVIT Multiple items may exist in the same place (Tab to select correct one). If you do not pay attention to what you are dimensioning to, you will get some nasty surprises.

Also when dimensions to different parts of the wall if you will hold your cursor over the line you want to dimension to and hit tab then it will tab threw the different lines.
