IS IT POSSIBLE TO ASSIGN YES/NO PARAMETER FOR VISIBILITY ON FAMILY EXTRUSIONS AND/OR VOIDS. I CAN EDIT THE EXTRUSION AND SELECT THE LINES AND EQUATE THIER VISIBILITY TO THE YES/NO PARAMETER. HOWEVER, THE VOIDS ARE STILL GENERATED WHEN THE CHECK BOX FOR VISIBLITY IS UNCHECKED. THANKS IN ADVANCE. GREG

No, you cannot assign a visibility parameter to voids.

if(name of your yesno parameter, 100 mm, 0 mm) 100mm is yes, 0mm is no you can link this parameter to the end of your void and set your start at -50 ( outside of the object you whant to cut )

Great. I am not sure how to apply "if" statements to parameters. I am excited to find out that it is possible. Do you know of any literature on applying the "if" statement?

You can read your HELP for proper syntax. What Dafpfy has suggested is very good. In essence, you move the void off the object. You can find an example of this though process in the countertop with hole family. That void location(hole) can be moved off the counter using instance parameters which you see as grips when you place the family.

WWHub, Do you have this family available? I cannot find one in my library and I downloaded (Countertop_Prefab_bullnose_3_sides_with_square_lav_holerfa_3357.rfa) from this site, but I don't think this is what you were referring me to. Greg

Thanks again. I have not had a chance to check out the countertop family; I will shortly. I did figure out the post by Dafpfy after WWHub's reply. I don't think I would have ever figured out the solution I was looking for without your guys help. Your input was invaluable and I can't thank you both enough.

This is possible. Create a yes/no parameter, named whatever you'd like. While in the family editor, click on the extrusion/void you would like to control the visibilty of... in the properties box, the word "visible" is shown, to the right of that word is a box, click this box. A window will appear where you can apply the yes/no parameter you created to the visibility of that element. When you load the family into a project, if the box is checked, it will be visible, if it is unchecked, it will not be visible. Hope this helps.
