I wish to show plans overlaid on top of a 3d image on a presentation sheet, these plans are to be transparent and allow partial view of the 3d image below. I have seen this done on other systems; however when I attempt this in Revit I cannot turn off the opaque white background to the imported floor plan. Anyone have the solution? Working in RAC2008.

The imported CAD file would be the problem because it is like a jpg. Did you try reversing the order of when you place the views on the sheet placing the plan first?

The plans are not CAD imports. Everything is produced in RAC 2008.

Sorry but you clearly said "...I cannot turn off the opaque white background to the imported floor plan." However ... that doesn't matter. Seems that even though other views are transparent and can be placed one on another, 3D views do not work the same. Looks like you will have to do this outside of Revit.

Apologise for incorrect usage of term 'import'. Attached part image of what I'm attempting to achieve. Do you not think this is possible in Revit?

It's not perfect, but I was able to goet something that looked close just by doing an override by element on the slab and making it transparent.

Tried that, but you still get the opaque box around the plans.

Are you talking about the crop line, the slab edge or something else?

Did you try changing your plan to wireframe?

Refering to the crop-line. Tried wire frame. Have made the floor transparent and the topography. Almost works, but seems very cumbersome and time consuming. Would have though there was a more elegant solution within Revit.

FAO TKennedy, Just opened your attached image. It may be what I'm after, or is the image generated by making the floor of the plan transparent?

Those are not images, I created a new floor plan and placed it on the sheet on top of a 3d view on a sheet.
