Hi Everyone! I'm using Revit 2009 and I'm trying to put some stairs in Revit. In the image I attached, I tried to have the stairs at a 7" riser and 11" tread with a 1" nosing with the floor to floor height @ 18' 8 - 13/32"...(32 risers). When I drew it, Revit said I was missing one stair, and they made the risers at 6 13/16" and the calculation is wayyyyy different from what I used. I drew what i wanted in ACAD and it came out right...with 7" risers. How do I fix it where I can have the correct height. They let me inserts the tread height but not the risers. Hope I explained it right! -Chela

Doesn't look like your sketch was long enough. In addition, what are your settings? Begin with a riser and End with a riser - not?

Thats what I was thinking but it works perfectly in Autocad with the risers info I provided. I began with a riser and do not end with a riser.

Sorry but the stairs work in Revit if you do them right. I don't know if you sketched the stairs by boundry and risers or if you did them automatically. You don't tell us anything so there is very little help we can give. You need to learn that CAD lies a lot. I sketched your stairs and it worked fine. Takes 33 risers at 6 205/256" 7" obviously can't work anywhere except CAD.

Attached is what the landing and stair dimensions are in plan. I sketched it by risers and wrapped it around.

Revit works exact.... you are ignoring the 13/32" .... If you want to do that, you have to allow for the risers to be larger than 7" - then you can get the 32 risers you show - otherwise it takes 33 risers. Simple math.
