I've scoured the websites and forums, I've searched Autodesk help, I've reached desperation. Here's my problem:I am just starting to get into transferring out office over to Revit. We have been using the font: gill sans MT as our office standard. I have set up all of the tags and labels with this font and it appears perfect on screen. When I go to print, it squishes the font spacing to zero. Do you know what could be causing this? When I change the font to arial, it prints with no problem.

Thanks

Brenda

How are you printing and to what?  Did you try printing to PDF then sending that?

I have tried printing to file, printing as PDF, and printing to 2 different Xerox printers. All have the same result.

As soon as I change the font to something more common (in this case: Arial), it will print in any of the methods above without a problem.

 Thanks,

Brenda

I printed to cute pdf and it is fine with that font here.  Something wrong in your system.

hmm. what would you recommend? I am running revit arch 2010.

This problem is ongoing...so over several days, revit and my computer have been restarted.

well, i found a temporary way around the issue so that i can get these drawings out:

by exporting as a dwf, the fonts do not squish or change spacing.

So...6 weeks later, I finally had time to resolve this issue correctly.

When I would send to our Xerox plotter, the fonts would print accurately. When printing to the Xerox copier (11x17 format), the font/character spacing would not print as displayed on screen. Same issue when printing as a PDF.

Turns out, the driver (post script) could not handle something with the font. I went to the Xerox support page and downloaded a PCL driver. Issue: resolved.

Now...how to solve the same problem with our PDF print driver...
