Hi all, First post to RevitCity. Revit Structure 2009: This has been driving me crazy - and I'm sure the answer is simple as no one else seems to be having an issue (I'm special that way....). I need to modify the slab edge (for a slab on grade ftg) to be a different shape. If I open the "slab edge-thickened" family, there's no views or reference planes in it, so I can't draw the profile, dimensions, etc I need to define and add parameters to the shape. If I start a new profile family, it doesn't show up as being available in the slab edge command (and the "load" option is not available to load it either). How do I modify slab edge profiles??

You have to set the profile usage in the family under settings / category and parameters.

Thank you for the reply, I didn't know that. However, the problem still remains. I did discover via Visibility Graphics the ref plane, lines, and dimensions were turned off in my default slab edge file. I turned them on, made the edits I needed, saved the file as a different name, and clicked on "load into project" (with my project open also in the same session). The Profile Usage is set to "Slab Edge". The family types I have available in the family are still not showing up as available in the slab edge command. In the Project Browser, the slab edges I have available are listed under Familes>Floors>Slab Edge. The new slab edges that I loaded into the project are listed under Profiles> (my new file name). How do I get this new profile family to show up as an available slab edge??

After you load into the project go to the Properties of the Slab Edge and change the profile...

aaaaahhhh...Thank you! I'd been in that screen before, but not since my recent progress making the family changes. That did it!

I know that, don't forget to "Duplicate" before that slab edge....
