(see attached image (using revit 2010))

I'm trying to do something that seems pretty simple but its not working.  I've created a mass family and i made mass floors in a project file. I'd like to give each mass a name, for example Building A, Building B and so on. Then i want to schedule each mass floor and group them by mass using the building name.  I created a shared parameter called "building name" which i thought I'd be able to fill out for each mass i create and it would show up when i did the mass floor schedule, but it doesn't. When i created the shared parameter i made sure to check off both Mass and Mass Floors.

If you look at the image, the Instance Properties box on the left is for the Mass and the one on the right is for the Mass Floor within the mass (you can see its highlighted in blue)

What i found does work are the categories that are greyed out in the Mass Floor Instance Properties box , like "Mass:Type", "Mass: Family", "Mass Comments" etc.

If you notice under Identity Data/Comments for the Mass i did a test and wrote xxxx and it shows up in the schedule and in the Mass Floors Instance Properties box.

So my question is.. how do we add custom parameters like the one called Comments under Identity Data. I'd like to not have to put my building name under the parameter Mass: Comments so when someone beside myself works on this project they know what to do.. does this make sense?

thanks in advance, sorry for the long explanation

Hi,

I wonder if you have a solution by now or a workaround for this issue?

I'm dealing with the same problem.
