I have created an in place shop counter as a furniture component and now want to create a section though it but the section isn't cutting it - instaed I am getting an elevation of this piece of furniture. Is there a setting to allow a section to be cut through a piece of furniture/

Thanks

"Furniture" is a NON-CUTTABLE family, check in the HELP menu what is Cuttable and Non-cuttable families....

Now that I have created the counter as a piece of furniture is there anything I can do i.e. change its category etc which will allow me to cut the section through it?

Thanks - perfect that did the job - I changed the item to casework and it now cuts fine. Do you think it makes any difference now that it is categorised as casework rather than furniture?

Sure does if your like us.  Furniture is turned off in architectural plans by VG..... Here is a hint at how to get around this.  Make it a subcategory of furniture.
