I have lighting layouts completed in DWG and would like to link those files into my revit file to use as an underlay to place in revit ligthing fixtures. But the DWG file is hidden by the ceiling grid in revit, I can't bring the DWG to front so how do I get the DWG visable through the revit ceiling gird?

You have to make sure your imported dwg is at a level between your cut plan and ceiling level. Your model is covering up the dwg objects. Changing you electrical plan to wireframe would also work if it does not get too congested. After you layout your lighting, just change it back to hidden line. Mike

Thanks, I just changed to wire frame and I can see all the dwg now, are the revit fixtures going to still cut into the ceiling plane?

They should if your fixtures are a ceiling based family. I would throw a couple fixtures into your model & cut a section to make sure they are at the level you want. Mike
