hi all, i'm using revit mep 2010, i'm trying to do a dual duct vav system with one air handing unit in the penthouse. it's an existing 40 year old system. i have a couple of questions, 1st is there a way to make a second supply air duct type. so that i can show a difference between the hot deck and the cold deck? also with the file i attached you can see that i have 2 large ducts above each other. they are supplied from the same fan just to the left of them. how can i merge these two ducts into one without having to have a large gap between the ducts.

 thank you in advance

wow - haven't come across this technology in a long long while. We actually had a dual duct system in our lab at my college, they were the latest big thing in the sixties. Here's a suggestion. Jill Benhardt has a nice post on her blog showing how to achieve a vent system connected to a sanitary drainage system. The concept may be transferrable to your situation. One place I worked, there were issues where outdoor air and exhaust connected to the return plenum of a vertical heat pump. They used the align tool to remove the gap without actually having a connector on the return plenum. As long as the other end of thoses systems is connected to the appropriate system on a piece of equipment the filters will work to show differing symbology for the hot and cold decks. I think Jill's blog is TheBimBulletin. I have seen posts from Jill on this forum also and AUGI also. Todd Shackelford's cadshack also has a link to Jill's blog.
