I have created a piece of furniture using the "create in place" function under the components tab. I now want to add this piece of furniture to a legend but when I run through the list of familiies under legend components the furniture I created isn't listed. Does anyone know why this may be?

Thanks

I don't think you can place a 3D object into a legend view.  You could create a view of the furniture, duplicate it many times, and place it on each sheet...

Ok, I will begin by suggesting NOT using an in-place family to create furniture. Unless it is highly customized and unique only to that project.
Create the furniture item as an external family file, then load it into your project.
I've never tried to add an in-place family to a legend. Maybe it's just not possible? I would check / varify the family 'category' and see if that enables it.
