i'm looking for suggested reading for revit. right now i am using the tutorials in revit 2009 in order to familiarize myself with the working environment, but i have no real knowledge of structural engineering or the entire design process. is there any way to see how a minor project might unfold without actually participating in the process? i'm trying to give these develop some concepts of real world applications for these processes demonstrated in the tutorial.

my company has a copy of Mastering Revit Structure 2009 and it is pretty useful. It is written by engineers who actually use the program. It might be worth investing in a copy for yourself.

I have a copy of Mastering Revit Architecture 2009 and it has been very useful for me. I am using Revit 2010 right now, but the same methods and techniques are pretty much used in both. You can probably buy the 2009 book a little cheaper now, though.

I suggest you view the free '10 Minute House' video on this page below. Browse on the left under REVIT 2008 Samples > House Kit - 10 Minute House. Gives you a quick overview of how REVIT works. Not much in annotation and detailing but good information on modeling from foundation to roof. http://www.cadclips.com/FreeCADclips.htm Lots more free REVIT videos on the page above as well. I also highly suggest this video series below (68 videos). http://www.myvbooks.com/cadclipsstore/stores/1/Revit_Architecture_2010_-_Basi_P186C24.jsp It has all the basics and involves no reading or thought process to translate book text to the computer screen. This 2009 video series below is even more detailed and includes a few lab exercises that take you through some excellent learning. (233 videos) http://www.myvbooks.com/cadclipsstore/stores/1/Revit_Architecture_2009_-_Fund_P188C14.jsp
