Hello everyone, does anyone know if there is something similar to xrefing in Revit? I am working on a 16 story condo project and levels 6 thru 14 are exactly the same. Anytime I make a change to level 6 I have to copy up again levels 7 thru 14. Is there a way to link levels 6 thru 14 so that I only have to make a change at level 6 and all the other level would automatically change just like using xrefs in AutoCAD. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks, vp Victor Pacheco Jr.Architectural Project ManagerTampa, Florida USAvictor.pacheco.jr@gmail.com

Someone may know a better way than this, but I would try creating and copying a group.

Read your HELP on LINKS. I hate to use the term x-ref because Revit's file linking is very different. You can link in CAD, DWF's or REVIT projects.

If they are exactly the same, does each floor need its own fully modelled level? Why not model one floor fully, then use that as the typical floor plan. Then you can leave all of the duplicate geometry of other floors out, saving you resources and time.

as wwwhub said, you can use linking system. Just use the import/link button on file column, and all your parts of proyects will update as u work on them. Try to use a different file for every part, like a file for topography, one for other buildings, roads, building A, building B ( in case you need to work on different parts of the proyect) AND A FILE that have it all HOSTED. The real use of what are you asking is when you work on a team, and split the work make all easier.

Linked files is exactly what you need, make that floor a model of it own and just link it in.
