I've recently found a workaround for calling out the proper finishes on my plans. I was trying to make my finish schedule be linked to my elevations and plans so that there is less chance for error as is the goal of the entire Revit program. So I created 4 shared parameters. West East North and South in my room parameters. Next I created 4 custom "Room Tags" Called West East North South. Then I used these different tags in my elevations making sure the right tag was used in the right elevation. So then when I punched in a finish for a wall it showed up in my schedule. Not sure if this helps anyone but it will save me a lot of effort in my hotels.

I was trying to duplicate approach from your post but was having trouble with the room tag families.  Could you send me one of tags?

See if this works for you. I might have made a shared project parameter, I'm not sure.

Thanks for the quick reply.  No problem making the Room properties show the shared parameters for North, South, etc. but how do you get the custom Room Tag, for instance"West", to link to the schedule so that you can input a finish in either the tag on the elevation or the schedule?

I made a room schedule and added a shared parameter from my shared parameter text file. The same file that I liked my tags to.
