I am trying to create a short rail with no extensions on the end. I want it to follow the rise and run of a stair but to not have a flat extension. I have included an image for claity (wall that the rail is attached to is hidden for clarity). Thanks Revit 2009

All railings are sketched by line segments. One slope railings should be one line. Your's has 3 segments to the sketch. Delete the two end segments and pull the center line out accordingly on each end. On second look ... you may have added extensions on your rail... take those off because they are always flat. (They are really a post believe it or not)

Ah, I figured it out. Somebody added the extension as a baluster family. Thanks
