Hi guys,

I'm trying to export  revit projects to autocad, but having troubles with its insertion points in the blocks.

Attached on the drawing is exported autocad from revit projects.

The blue dots is the block insertion points that I'm trying to move to the edge of the door.I've tried to define origin on the reference plans on the  family (both center (back/front) and center (left/right)), but the insertion points is not moving.

I know I should be able to move this, because the door on the right has the insertion point on the wall, but the door on the left has the insertion points in the middle  of the wall.

What am I missing here?

-Arthur

I don't know how this translates to the CAD file but in REVIT, the insertion point is the crossing of two planes that have the defines origin checked in the family and they do not have to be the front/back, left/right planes.

Yes, It should be like that... But I already tried it, and it doesn't work. crossing two "origin" reference planes on the plan.

The insertion points (when exported to autocad) looks random, sometime in the center, sometimes slightly shifted to the edge. This looks like a bug.

Problem solved,

Defined origin reference planes on revit will not exported to autocad as origin.

Solution:

Import an autocad drawing to the family origin-origin, and you'll see where the family insertion points really is when exported to autocad.
