Hi all, how to shorten certain [top layer] compaired to other layers of my roof. Like with walls its possible to modify "vertical structure layers] I need to end the rooftiles before it encounters the wall, and don't prefer to work with void, inplace families. GrC

You can do it as two separate roofs. I typically just have the roof as the tile and batten layer and then a separate, joined roof to include the insulation and rafters. Depending on the roof, you could do the structure independantly, using a beam system or array of trusses.
