Perhaps someone can walk us through how to put doors into curtin walls. Followed the instructions and it doesn't seem to want to do it. Also it is possible to do custom shaped mullions. Post edited on 2005-08-16 05:30:45

First create door or download from here or from some other place and loaded in revit like door family. Divide your cwall with curtain grid, select panel where you want put the door when put cursor over cwall and with tab key select panel and when your panel is red choose your cwall door from type selector, it will be few place under curtain wall. Door must be curtain wall door not regular door. Post edited on 2005-08-16 07:47:24

Another methodology: One trick I have been using is to place regular door families into curtain walls. To do this, select the curtain panel and change it to a regular wall type. I usually make a dummy wall type the same thickness as my curtain panel thickness. Now that the curtain panel you have selected is a wall, you can simply insert a regular door family into it and it will schedule properly and can get placed onto a legend. The trick is to make sure that you use a door family with no trim and have the clear space between the mullions exactly the width and height of your door. When the door "cuts" your dummy wall, the dummy wall will completely disapear leaving just the door. I have attached a simple example to look at. HTH P.S. Mullions can have custom profiles. Simply make a profile, load it into your project, duplicate an existing mullion and use the profile you created as the "profile" in the mullion family properties.
