USING REVIT 2010.... The Intent I am trying to show a section cut of a floor (please refer to attached image) and a new floor in a new construction view, showing previous and new. The views INTENT is to show the existing as is sits next to and corresponds to the new construction. The existing is a simple construction of (from top to bottom): Top half is paver stone, cement bed, concrete fill; Bottom half is simply concrete. All materials are completely selected and have cut patterns. The Problem In this view, neither the cut pattern nor the structure of the existing floor is visible. I attempted to turn on the visibility override of in the Phase settings, but this did not work for the floor. I am open for suggestions to solve this visibility issue and/or perform a different method to achieve the same "intent." THANKS! Edited on: Fri, Sep 18, 2009 at 11:40:18 AM

What phase and phase filter settings do you have for this view? Is the section view set to 'fine' detail ?

" What is the phase, phase filter and associated graphics overrides of the section view? " FIRST HALF RESOLVED... Phase New Construction Phase Filter Show Previous + New Associated Graphics Overrides No filters; only global lineweight overrides. I did attempt the to set Visible the Phase Pattern Graphics under Manage >> Phases >> Graphic Overrides >> Existing : Cut : Pattern. I then set the pattern override and I SUCCESSFULLY have a cut pattern now. Remaining Issue Is it not possible to show the existing floor's material pattern and structure in this view? Is the Override Pattern the only way I can get any cut pattern on this existing floor here in this particular view with its above settings? By the way: thank you for looking into this! It works for me. See attached images. All I did was change the Phase Filter 'Show Previous + New' > Existing to > 'By Category'. It appears that by default this is set as an override to eliminate the cut pattern. In other words they do not expect you to show cut patterns of existing objects when set to 'Show Previous + New'.
