Is it possible to override the graphics of an object's subcategory that is an existing element? I am working on a project where we are doing a renovation of an existing building. All the windows have precast concrete trim around them. All the exterior trim work is going to remain but we are going to be replacing the actual windows. In the window family I made all the trimwork in a subcategory of "trim" so that I could override the graphics of the trim separately in the views. Basically what I want to show is the trimwork in a grey line (existing) and then show the frame of the window (all the rest of the elements in the window family) in a black line (to show that it is new work). The windows are an existing element and because of the phase filter and phase graphic overrides it shows all existing work as grey lines. (we are not demolishing the windows, only using graphic overrides in view to make them look demolished so we don't have to demolish and then insert new windows in exactly the same place.) It seems to me that its not possible to override the graphics of a subcategory of existing elements, only new. Has anyone else encountered this problem before? Does anyone know a workaround? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.James
