I am having problems with placing doors in walls in an option set, that crosses another wall in a different option set. It tells me that and element (door) cannot be hosted by another wall in another design option. Also, am I placing rooms in each of these option sets correctly, I end up having two rooms in the same space. I figure I just name them differently and turn off the option I don't want to see. When I do this it also grey's out the room tag. Help if you can please. Thanks

Add the wall to the option set also. A door cannot be added to a wall that is not part of the option. Likewise, with the rooms, the walls that define them need to be part of the option, unles they are common to both. Just select them and add to both (or all) option sets using the 'Add to set' function.

The wall that I am trying to place the door in is already part of that option. The problem is, there is another option set that has a wall that is crossing (and passing) perpindicular to it. I believe that is the wall that is causing the conflict, not sure why. Anyway, all that you mentioned was already set up that way, so I am not sure what to do now. Thanks for the response.

Are you sure you don't have two walls in the same place? Turn off the other option set in VG, then place your door.

It seems that if the wall I wanted to place the door in, was deleted and then placed back in the plan in the model (not the Option view) it worked. I was actually trying to help on a problem one of my colleagues was having. There seems to still be an issue with existing walls creating "white spaces" or making a new wall look like it has a section cut out of it where the existing wall passes through it. Is there a toggle for this. I have an existing school that we are demolishing existing interior walls and putting back new partitions (in different places) and where these walls in tersect they create this condition mentioned above. Does anyone have any comments on this? Thanks agin for the responses to the first issue.
