In one particular file on my First Floor Plan when I insert switches they will not appear, however when I click on the lightbulb they show up but not as pink. I have checked my view range and properties and it all appears correct. I have even cut a section and it appears in the section just not in plan? In this file the Second Floor Plan is showing the switches and outlets. Any suggestions? Thank You.

Check your VG settings - you probably don't have the category on. Compare with the view that works - better yet, create a view template from the good view and apply it to the other.

My VG from each floor plan and they match exactly. I still can't seem to see them without clicking on the lightbulb, but again they don't show up pink in that view they show up gray. I still can view them in section without having the hide in view function on.

Good that u got it worked, but for future purpose I suggest also check the Detail Level.

The fact that the view template works shows one of two things. Either the VG did not match (even though you think it did) or as suggested by Marissa, the coarse/fine settings were not the same and the family was build to show in that setting. If you can see them without clicking the lightbulb, then they are either hidden in view individually or by category.
