Hi guys, back again with another question. I am using Revit 2010

Slowly but surely, I am getting closer to the finish line with my model. I have added a side extension onto a 3 bed semi detached house and I just want to make sure that I am getting the roof aspect to it right.

When adding the new section of roof, I have just edited the roof footprint to accommodate the new area of roof that needs to be covered. Images attached below.  Is this the correct procedure or should I be creating a new roof footprint for the new roof extension and then somehow joining the new roof to the old?

May seem a little obvious to many of you guys but I just want to make sure that I am doing things the right way.

Does my roof look OK to you?

Thanks ever so much

Kirk

You can just edit the roof to show what you want, but the traditional method would be to use the Phasing in Revit.  The existing roof would be in the existing phase and then a separate section of new roof in the 'New contruction' phase.  In that way you can show existing and proposed views of the building.
