I am trying to creat a titleblock family that can have many differnet types of titleblocks within it so I can just load one family into my projects and change sizes/styles of title blocks from with in this. anyone have a clue of how to do this? I already have an individual family for each size/style of title blocks I want, it would be great to not have to make them over again, but it wasn't that time consuming. I know it has something to do with adding new family types, I just can't figure it out! Thanks!

If you already have an individual family for each size / style of title block why would you want to start complicating things? I would think that it is possible, but it would be more functional to have different familes for each type - just load the different types into the project and you can choose the appropriate one by right clicking on sheets in the project browser.

two clean, seperate titleblocks in your library will save you more time in the long run than having extra parameters on one titleblock that would need to be changed to suit each sheet... although, I don't think what you're asking is really possible, anyway.

Well it could be possible, but you would have to make yes/no parameters for an entire titleblock of each size. We have Mechanical/Plumbing/Electrical/and structural using the same title block. We create 4 types: mech, elect, plumb, and struct. We then have parameters for drawn by, checked by, etc. set up for each individual discipline, but we keep stuff like the date, address, and all that info the same to be correct across all disciplines. Using these type of parameters, you could make different sized title blocks, but in my opinion it would be way to many parameters and a bit messy.

I figured it out earlier, similarly to what you said mattman2248. I created family types for every size I needed and then created parameters of yes/no for each size. Then turned on yes for (ex) 8.5 x 11 landscape parameter in the 8.5 x 11 Landscape family type and so on. Then it was a matter of drawing each title block and selecting it all, clicking it's element properties, browsing visibility to pick the family parameter that matched with that titleblock. then hiding it all so I could draw the next one. Now, the only problem is, I have a logo in the titleblock and I can't assign its visibility. Does anyone know how to either create a nested family with the logo image that I can assign to a family type or is there some image setting I can use when I import the image? I've avoided the problem for now because the logo is the same size in all the titleblocks I worked with today and in the same corner so it did matter for those sets of titleblocks. help!
