O.K. here is the problem.... I am trying to extend beams thru my concrete walls and then bearing in a pocket on other walls. I have been trying to research how to acomplish this and have read some people putting mass voids in there walls which seem's problematic if you have 30+ beams to pocket. Then I have also read that people are able to click a box in there beam's element properties to pocket the beam on one end or the other. This seams like the most logical way to get the job done but when I open my beam element properties.....there are no such options. Does it take a special beam family to have those settings avalible, or do I need a specific version of Revit? I am using Structure so I would think that it would be the version to have this avallible. Once I figure out how to do this I have to take on the next problem associated with the beam pocket.....putting a bearing plate under it and leaving room for grout in the pocket to show up in my wall sections so that I can get accurate pocket and beam heights. HELP!

This can be done with Wall Reveals. I guess the big questions is- how does this benefit you? Is it worth detailing these reveals. It's not so dificult to do, but it requires some fore-thought. Also, it's not the most flexible solution. There are things you can do to make it semi-parametric, but it is not seamless. Do you know how to create and manipulate wall reveals? I can help you with this/provide more information if needed.

heres a solution! this is a component,a simple rectancular void form, but is totally worth having when beam are places in concrete walls for exemple. I have trouble myself to use it, it seems to forget what is the host, so once installed in wall click "new pick" to select host again, and you should see the pocket in wall for your beam or joist.
