I have a 10" metal stud wall that has 2.75" of EIFS on it. I want a portion of the wall to have a 2" recess, so I duplicated the 10" metal stud wall and made it have 8" metal studs instead. Sounds easy enough. Looks right in elevation, no problems, but in plan the wrapping is shown incorrectly. I want to maintain the 2.75" at the insert/recess, however, where the 2 walls meet the material shrinks to like .5" wide when it wraps/returns. I've attached an image of what I'd like it to look like verses what I'm getting. I've tried different ways to make it work, including: - I used the cut geometry
- I created an opening first
- I made sure the wrapping was set for exterior on both walls and at end and inserts
I didn't create a family for it to try that, but if there are more suggestions, besides, use the linework tool, it's appreciated. Thanks

You need a short wall return but you will have join probems because REVIT does not do well with short walls. There is a fix that is posted here in the forums... search joins.

Thanks for your reply. I did do a search before posting the question but didn't find anything about joins, returns, recesses or any other keyword I could think of. searching for "joins" gives me 5 pages of results alone and I went through lots of them trying to find the solution you spoke of but didn't find anything. I tried adding more keywords, like "short" and "wall" but that returns more results and none of them were any help either. If you know the specific post you're refering to I'm happy to read it's contents, but can you give me some more information? Thanks

I wrote one of the fixes but it was awhile back. First, create this like I said with two short return walls and make sure their orientation is correct. If this is one material, there is no problem, it wall work. If there are layers, then come back when you see the problem and I will see if I can write up the fix again.
