When you create a new view, a view tag is placed in all views that have a coincident view range. This has caused some stress for the Architects that want a "minimal or terse" documentation style. I have been searching and hiding view tags endlessly there must be a better way. Is there a way to have the newly created view tag only show up in the view in which it was created? In other words automatically hidden tags in all other related views. Does this have something to do with "propagate extents"?

As in all of life ... you take the good with the bad. The good thing is that everywhere a callout could show, it does. The bad - it does and you need to hide it. If you had searched in the threads at all you would have found that your thoughts are not unique! I believe control of this is on the wish list. For now, you need to be responible in fixing all views when you place a call-out. A suggestion to look at... callouts in plans show in all related views, callouts in details do not.
