When I am in a project (even a newly created one) Revit will crash when I select 'Load Family'. Every time. I have reinstalled Revit 2010 with the Service Pack 1 as well as the recent patch that Autodesk has released and I am still having this problem. Anyone know what to do?

Do you conform to these guidelines? http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/file..._tech_note.pdf

I could forward this on to my IT person, but we have been running Revit 2010 since it came out. It was only just last Friday that this started happening. I didn't know if this has been known to have happened before? I am guessing my machine meets the criteria outlined, and all of the machines are the same; but this hasn't happened on any of the other two workstations we have here. So then that leads me to ask, is it the program or the machine? I'm guessing since this is about the only time that Revit crashes (with each attempt to do that particular command), that it is some glitch within Revit. I just didn't know if there is a known way to fix this problem. Thanks for responding btw

Our workstations meet and exceed the necessary criteria that Revit recommends using. It is only on my system that the 'Load Family' will make it crash. Tried replacing the INI file with another workstation's thinking that might resolve any bugs in the INI file, but that didn't do any better. We are using 3gigs with the 3gig switch enabled. I know others have mentioned upgrading to use more than 3, but again, my workstation is the only one that seems to be having this issue.

Mars It is probably your virtual memory, open the worksharing monitor and open the system performance. There is a graph on there you can monitor to see whats is causing the crash. My guess is your virtual memory redlines. Is your hardware acceleration on? if so turn it off and have your IT guy set your "pagefile" as high as it will go.

Yeah, I do not work with the Hardware Accelerater turned on. Found that to be a big pain in the but. We do not have the workshare monitor installed. However, we did already max the "filepage" size. Any other suggestions or thoughts?

No, my drafting supervisor is also the IT man. I showed it to him and upon further review he is very skeptical about installing a program that will mess with the computer's registry file in any way.
