lets say i'm modeling a big project, and here i have multiple elements.for this project i generate a bunch of sheets, displaying overall views of certain area's.here i also have massive concrete beams with lengths of about 18 meters. but here is the thing, in the overall overview i just want to see the shape of the elements (for example the beams in relation to the grid lines)but in a other sheet, i whould like to display a single beam, with details in it. for example where the resess must be (to connect it with foundations) or where certain voids must be for rebar / cabels / and so on. but here is the catch for me, at first i was thinking, i just let those display as "fine" and within the coars and medium they should not get displayed. but again, voids cant be set to only show in fine / medium / coars. so the point is, i only want to display details, within my detail sheet on the element. and not in the overall view.and, ofcourse, i want to keep 1 famaly file for it, so if there is some revision, there is only 1 file to edit. so i wonderd, how did other people pick this up, and fix this problem ?

ok, well let me try to describe it again. in Revit, i have build a model, and withing this model are a lot of beams, culums, and so on. from this model i start to generate sheets, for example the overall deployment plan (dont know the correct english word for it), but within this overvieuw, i only like to display the beam form, an theyr location on the building site. with dimentions i show theyr deploiment place related to the grid lines within the project. but now, i also want to generate new sheets, witch include the detailing that is on the beams, culums and other forms. these are the same beams, only now with the exact detailing on it. for example, in this detail i like to draw the core spots, places where bolts must be placed, a small strip thats cast into the concrete for cables, and so on. but, all this stuff i dont want to see within the overview. the overview was only ment for pointing out theyr location. i hope you see the problem that i mean now, so my first thought was, set the detailed stuff to be only shown on views that are set to "fine", but the problem with this is, a void cant be set to be only shown on "fine" views. so now i was wondering, how did or do others approatch this problem, becouse you dont want to create copy's of the created family's.
