Does anyone know how to make glazing appear opaque in a 3D view like it appears in an elevation? I've searched through the forums, but haven't found the answer yet. Thanks!

I guess my last post didn't make it -- Go to settings, materials, scroll down to "glass" and drag the slider bar from 75% transparent, to 0%.

Yeah... I get how to change the material globally, but that doesn't answer my question. In elevations the glazing appears opaque ie you can't see what's on the other side even though the material opacity settings are unaltered. What I'm looking for is how to make a 3D view look more like an elevation in regards to the windows ie I don't want to see beyond the glass, but only in a particular view. What setting can I change, and where, in order to make the glass appear opaque in a single 3D view? Thanks!

Moving the goal post? They answered your initial question. Model materials are global - not view dependent. In ordcer to do what you want to do, you could use design options or phases to have a different glass material in that one view.

why does it matter? You only have 3d and elevation views where the glass is visible, so, if you want them opaque in both those views, just do it globally. Or did you want other 3d views with transparent glass...? Anyway, this doesn't affect render apearance. Glass will still render transparent, even if it's shown as 0% transparent in shaded views. But as far as I know, there's no box to check per view that makes glazing show like it does in Elevations.

thanks to all for the input! I did find the checkbox in the window family to make the opening cut visible in 3D. I just went ahead and made my glazing 0% transparent for my particular application. It would have been nice, however, if there was a VV setting to change the glazing transparency in a single view instead of globally changing the material characteristics. Wishlist Item - a VV mode setting that allows user to change parameters of material in single view.
