I am detaching a local file from central and want to see if I did it correctly. Isn't there a way to view the path of the central file? I can't tell which central file I am attached to. I'm afraid to save to central, because If I didn't detach properly, I will be overwriting a drastically changed file. Revit 2009

When you open a central file detached... or a local file detached ... then it is detached! How can it show you a central? If save to central is not allowed then you have a detached file.

Sorry, maybe I used the wrong word. I was working in a local copy of a central file. I made some extensive changes that I did not want to save back to the central. So I did a save as, selected "make this a central file after save." I was hoping to make an independent central file that was no longer linked to the original central file. I just want to check and make sure that it worked before I save to central again. Thank you!

If you use the option save as & make this a central... then you now are working in the central at the location you saved to.. you should immediately do a save as to your local directory and you will now be in your local linked to this new central and you never closed a file ... got it?
