hi guys, i have designed a reception counter for my school assignment.. I downloaded one curved reception counter from revit city and tried to edit the family.. because i am new to revit..I don't really know how to edit it according to the reference line.. however, i tried my best to make it look like what my desired design.. one more thing, i don't know how to put my idea(DNA shape) as the reception counter frontage.. I also wanted a movable base drawer for my counter..thus, i downloaded one that is similar to my idea but i have problem with editing it.. thus, i have roughly drawn my ideas on autoCAD..I hope someone out here can help me.. Attached are the (1) DNA image(which i wanted it curved at the front of the counter) (2) plan, elevation and the movable drawer in autoCad (3) edited reception counter in Revit Architecture (4) downloaded base drawer

annateo301, this is a tricky one to answer in a discussion group. You seem to have all the parts and you are very well organized so I commend you on that but you may have bitten off more than you can chew. Tell your teacher you are going to build something that you already found on the internet instead : ) . . . no don't do that. Seriously, custom REVIT family design takes MANY hours (100's hrs) of practice and trial and error. Reference planes, reference lines, dimensions, sketching, constraints, views, work planes, solids, voids, visibility graphics, materials, decals, rendering, printing. . . . these are only a few items that need to be well understood before you tackle a custom curved reception counter based on a DWG and existing moveable drawer family file . . . . with image logo on the front. People here at REVITCITY are awesome for quick answers and solutions regardless of complexity. Then there are questions such as this that involve actual work with follow-up explanation. Different story. My company (listed below) offers educational (and corporate) discounts on REVIT training videos and we can get it to the desktops of any computer lab (or desktop) on the planet within ours (if they have h.s. internet). If your school is interested have your people contact my people at the web site below. In the mean time perhaps someone has time to download your files and provide some advice. Here's a weee sample of the training we provide > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnqljpl9QEU
