Hi guys, I found dwg file of a toilet bowl from a website and I want to transform it from 2D to 3D and load it as a fmily to Revit Architecture. How do I do that? attached is the dwg for the toilet bowl that I have selected.

I wouldn't recommend modeling toilets in 3D unless you need them for rendering purposes. In commercial construction what most people are really looking for is a toilet that behaves like a multi-view block inside of AutoCAD. I used the CAD file that you attached to do a quick sample of the toilet. It took less than five minutes and give me 10 more and I can have it looking better. I simply wblocked out the plan, side and front views from the CAD file, then in Revit started a new family using the plubming fixture template. In the new Revit family simply insert the CAD views as appropriate (plan to plan, front to front and side to side) Set the visibility of each CAD file in the family to only show in the appropriate view i.e. plan in plan etc. See the attached quick CAD toilet file for the 5 minute version. See the attached Kohler toilet file for the 15 minute version that has masking regions and level of detail control. HTH

I've been using Revit almost 8 years now. The past two years I've been an Autodesk employee teaching and consulting on how to use Revit. Glad to help out where I can.
