I am working on getting material and color assignments correct in Revit for a model so it will render correctly, have accurate colors in a shading with edges view for quick client requests, and display correctly on sheets in black and white for construction documents.  However, the doors (all types, sizes, families) are displaying as solid gray with no edges (see attached picture).  I've assigned materials, changed setting both in the families and in the model, but they only display as gray.  Anyone know why this is and how to make it stop?

In the material settings you need to go to the Render Appearance settings and set it the way that you want it to appear (assuming 2009 or 2010).  If you've done that then it may be to do that the doors are in a different phase.

I set all that up because as the default in Revit, the doors were coming up orange and the frames a dark gray.  I figured out setting that up in the family and then reloading it into the model doesn't matter as you have to set the rendering appearance in the model as this drives the building appearance.  The part I thought was odd is that the edges aren't defined like the adjacent components; the doors dont' have a defining edge line.
