I am missing something which is most likely very easy to solve. I want to show an exterior horizontal wood (hardiboard) siding in my rendering. I have the materials set up and wall created with wood, but can't figure out how to show any lap siding in the rendering. Am I overlooking a material that has this built in, or do I have to create a special horizontal scoring to show the affect. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks,

You have to use the material you want. For lap siding you need a material that uses a bump to achieve the 3D effect of the lap siding. I do not believ there is a stock lap siding in the library. You can look at the shingled materials tgo see how the seperate bump file is used. You will have to get a lap siding jpeg and you can make a bump file form that. There are discussions of this process elsewhere.

The roofing tip helps a lot. I will create the jpeg in a white or grey, and then apply a color to in revit for the accents. Hope this works. Thanks a bunch.
