Below is a link to a video tutorial on using a 'shared parameter' to schedule door swings > ie: RH LH.

It would be nice if the door families 'out of the box' read the 'flip control' and managed the swing internally but it's not there. This is a solid manual work around. Some quality control checks must accompany this system however.

Other than that, it is a good basic lesson on using 'shared parameters' to schedule any non 'out of the box' data about your families. Cryingkey word being schedule). If you don't need to schedule it then you don't need it to be a shared parameter.

Daryl,

Good video as usual. Just a note though. You have the door swing designations wrong. For an office or standard room, if you are facing the door on the swing side and the handle is on the right, it's a right hand door. It would be a left hand reverse if it swings out of the room (a good example is a store room door that swings out into the corridor). In this scenerio even if the handle is on the right it would be designated by LHR. The difference between RH and LHR is important when specifying hardware. Many commercial locks are not reversible. You most likely knew this but I thought a new desinger/draftsperson may miss this subtle error.

Thanks for contributing another video.

John
