What would be the best way to model chain link fence, in particular the 'fabric'? Both with and without vinyl slat inserts? This probably has two different applications. One application would be typical longer runs of fence where showing the posts every 8' with fabric running continuously. Likely to be 6' to 8' high. A detail is similar to this: http://www.hooverfence.com/clrdraw.htm The 2nd application would be for a taller chain link enclosure, more like 12' high; for this application the slats inserted into the fabric becomes important. http://www.fencecenter.com/store/default.aspx?DepartmentId=15050 For that I would probably model the pipe posts & pipe horizontals and would need to model the fabric inbetween the vertical pipe columns and pipe horizontal's framework. This would include gates. The hard part is to have the chainlink fabric look right in all the different views without making the file size and effort to make it (or modify it) explode. Thanks!

There is a chain link map in Revit, so you don't have to model it. Just set up a new material and apply the chain link map and cutout. To make a fence, do it as a railing an create a thin tall profile for the rail (fence) and apply the material.
