I am loading the group in Revit and I cant seem to figure out how to actually use it. I do not see it listed as a compent. I am sure I am missing something very simple but I am just getting frusterated cause I need to do some trim detailing and need to use the lumber. Thanks for you help!

You loaded a group? I think you loaded a detail element. Most detail elements are complete as is but some have parametric qualities. You add these to drafting or model views. In model views, you will also use the edit cut profile to edit the cut profile of model elements. You may also add linework, filled or masking regions and you might modefify model lines by using the linework tool.
