I am trying to model an existing roof however it has some non standard elements and I cannot seem to alter the roof revit creates to suit. Image 1 shows the roof as Revit creates it from the footprint. Image 2 shows the roof as it is and needs to be created (I drew the extra lines in with detail lines to show what I need toi achieve). The falls are shown with arrows. How would I go about adding this false gable and getting the roof right?

The first image is correct, the second one is wierd BUT you can do that in two pieces then use the "Join Geometry" tool to clean up the two roofs... See the video: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=G5QE04L1 Edited on: Fri, Jul 17, 2009 at 6:02:20 AM

Typhoon, I think that was the most helpful reply to a post I have ever had on a forum! I cannot thank you enough, you even went to the trouble to make a video to show me. These sites are better for posters such as yourself. Again many thanks. I guess for me the problem is knowing when to use two roofs (or more) to create my roof and when it can be created in one method. Hopefully that will come with experience but watching you (which was great for me!) was interesting to see how you broke the roof into two parts. And yes this was a bit of a weird roof but im trying to model something that exists (for a real world learning example) and since I may come across this later in the working world I felt it best to try and accomplish it. I could not have done it without your help, so once again many thanks for your efforts and detailed response.
