Buildings undergo MANY plan and elevation changes throughout the design process. How do you keep Schematic Plans / sheets / presentation renderings for archiving and still progress into Design Development - Construction documents? We are always having our architects pulling out schematic floor plans from the drawer and want that printed out again. I am new to Revit and not sure how to save these other than saving multiple files. There again, when you are working from a central file so the whole office can work on the job, do you have to create multiple Central Files? Like a central file for Schematic Design, Design Development, Const Docs?

hard drive space is cheap. At any given milestone, like going from schematic design to design development I save a new file.

I'd rather be riding at whistler. or highland. thats good too.

That's what we all do... Open central detached and do a save as in your backup folder named accordingly then close.

So SOP would be to open central file using the Detach From Central toggle to create a "copy" of the central file as is and then Save that file to wherever we save old designs and then close that file and reopen the Central file and continue on the process of development. Thanks for your help. Ken
